Rz. Chuanxiong Chuan Xiong 3-15g Invigorates the Blood, promotes the movement of Qi, expels Wind and alleviates pain.
Rx. Salviae Miltiorrhizae Dan Shen 3-24g Invigorates the Blood, dispels Blood Stasis, clears Heat and soothes irritability.
Rx. Paeoniae Rubra Chi Shao 4.5-15g Invigorates the Blood, dispels Blood Stasis, relieves pain, clears Heat and cools the Blood.
Flos Carthami Hong Hua 3-12g Invigorates the Blood, dispels Blood Stasis, opens the channels, unblocks menstruation and alleviates pain.
With Chuan Xiong, for chest and abdominal pain due to Qi and Blood Stasis.
Lignum Dalbergiae Odoriferae Jiang Xiang 3-12g Disperses Blood Stasis, stops bleeding, invigorates the Blood, promotes the movement of Qi and alleviates pain.
With Dan Shen, for Angina pectoris .

CLINICAL MANIFESTATIONS

  • Palpitations
  • Stabbing pain in the anterior region over the Heart
  • Suffocating sensation in chest or oppressed sensation in the sternum
  • Maybe drawing pain down internal aspect of arm or back (especially the left arm)
  • Pain (in chest and/or arm) tends to be severe and intermittent
  • In severe cases:
    Cold limbs
    Cyanosis of lips and nails
  • T: Dark red with purple spots or Purple body
  • C: Little
  • P: Minute (scarcely perceptible) and thready or Knotted or Uneven and slow or Knotted and intermittent

  • Contraindicated for those with menorrhagia.
  • Contraindicated for those with Blood Deficiency without Stasis.
  • Contraindicated during pregnancy.

NOTES
